Weekly Coffee Trivia:

In January, 1675 in England, certain merchants were angered when coffee was introduced. Those selling ale and wine felt threatened when coffee became more popular. They even launched a campaign to persuade Charles II to issue an order to suppress coffeehouses. Fortunately, public outcry forced the order to be retracted.

New Wine Additions

Everyone seemed to agree at the wine tasting on Saturday which wines were the best.  We're going to keep the 4 favorites from the evening on our wine list.  The hands-down clear favorite was the El Gandor malbec from Argentina.  A wine you must try for yourself. The purple-colored 2006 El Ganador Malbec offers up an attractive nose of violets and black cherry. Supple, ripe, and easygoing on the palate, this excellent value has no hard edges.  Here are the new additions along with the other selections we already have.  Great tasting everyone and we enjoyed the evening with you all.

Helping Harain Benefit a Success!

Hello Everyone!

The Helping Harain Benefit concert was a success! Many individuals and sponsors who
could not attend were still very generous with donations and we ended up raising
a good amount of money to help Harain and his family with his medical treatment.
We want to thank you all for your generosity!  Thanks to all the sponsors, Indian
Peaks Golf Course and the band Wadirum for your time and efforts to put this together.
It was wonderful of everyone to donate your time, money and resources to help this child.
We will still continue to take pledges even though the event is over.

Take make a pledge go to http://harainaldama09.pledgepage.org/ or see Alesa at Cannon Mine to make a donation to the Harain Aldama Cancer Fund.

Boulder Coffee Examiner 7/29/2009

Hi Everyone!

Korina Felkers with the Boulder Coffee Examiner at Examiner.com posted an article on good coffee houses in the area that feature live music and Cannon Mine is at the top of the list!   Thanks Korina and thank you to our staff and customers for helping us create a great friendly environment to hear some good local musicians in.  Steve Murray will be playing the Lafayette Art Night Out this Friday at The Mine.  We look forward to seeing you there!
